PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow paper fingerprint at the same place when the same original is read to be obtained, to make it unnecessary to print special images, such as a mark, and to make it hard to perform processing, such as malicious painting out or cutting, in an image forming apparatus for dealing with paper fingerprint information. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, original image data read by an image reader are divided into blocks, such as characters, background, line art, and tables. Also, attribute of an image and an area of respective attribute of image are obtained. Information indicating a characteristic of the image area of a characteristic attribute of each block obtained is applied to a computational expression for obtaining coordinate on a predetermined original to obtain paper fingerprint data from coordinates on the obtained original.
