PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing cost in regard to upwardly-blowing type and horizontally-blowing type outdoor units. SOLUTION: This outdoor unit 1 used for an air conditioner is provided with a case body 11, first and second panels 121, 122, a fixation part 13 and a fan 14. The case body 11 has an upper opening 111 opened upwardly and a lateral opening 112 opened sideways. The first panel 121 can be mounted to both of the upper opening 111 and lateral opening 112, and is mounted to one of the upper opening 111 and lateral opening 112 to close the one opening. The second panel 122 can be mounted to both of the upper opening 111 and lateral opening 112, has a blowout port 1221 and is mounted to the other of the upper opening 111 and lateral opening 112. The fixation part 13 is fixed within the case body 11. The fan 14 can be fixed to the fixation part 13 in the position within the case body 11 so as to send air toward the blowout port 1221.
