PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the size of an observation target in a non-contact state without enlarging the diameter of an insertion part. Ž
SOLUTION: An endoscope has a plurality of illumination windows at the leading end of the insertion part. A plurality of illumination systems corresponding to the respective illumination windows are provided in the leading end and each of them has an irradiation lens 60 comprising a first lens 66 and a second lens 68. The first lens 66 has a concave surface 66b depressed into a hemispherical shape and the second lens 68 has the back surface 68b formed into a curved surface. The first lens 66 diffuses incident light by its concave surface 66b to emit from the illumination windows as illumination light, and the second lens 68 converts the incident light to parallel luminous flux by its back surface 68b to emit from the illumination windows as sensing light. Since the illumination light and the sensing light are formed by the irradiation lens 60, the diameter of the insertion part is prevented from being enlarged even in a case to perform measurement in a non-contact state.
