COATED PRODUCT, COATING METHOD, THERMOSENSITIVE RECORDING MATERIAL AND COATING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method capable of suppressing the formation of a crater (crateriform mark) on the surface of the uppermost layer coating film when manufacturing a coating product such as thermosensitive recording material according to a curtain coating method.

SOLUTION: The coating method includes: a curtain coating process of ejecting at least one layer of coating liquid from a slit, subjecting the ejected coating liquid to free-fall dropping by using a curtain edge guide which guides the ejected coating liquid in a curtain shape and applying the coating liquid onto a web continuously running; and a process of forming the coated film by drying the coated coating liquid, wherein a surface flatness of the web continuously running is set to be 300 sec or more.
