<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a sanitary paper roll by which stain is hardly applied to the manufactured sanitary paper roll, and the excellent appearance of a product is hardly damaged. <P>SOLUTION: A first coating portions 4A are formed on the outer peripheral surface of an elongated core tube 2 by applying an adhesive along the longitudinal direction. The start end of wide base paper 6 is fixed by adhesion onto the outer peripheral surface of the elongated core tube 2 via the first coating portions 4A. The wide base paper 6 is wound around the elongated core tube 2, so as to form a roll 8. A second coating portions 10A are formed at the terminal end or the like of the wide base paper 6 by applying the adhesive along the width direction. The terminal end of the wide base paper 6 is fixed by adhesion onto the outer peripheral surface of the roll 8 via the second coating portions 10A, so as to form a log 12. The log 12 is cut by product width with the use of a cutting blade 14. Parts corresponding to the side edges of the sanitary paper roll 1 are made to be non-coating portions 16A and 18A. The first coating portions 4A and the second coating portions 10A are formed between the plurality of non-coating portions 16A and 18A.
