<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with remarkable unbalance during a shower rinsing action appropriately. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The drum-type washing machine can appropriately cope with the remarkable unbalance during the shower rinsing action by supplying water into a drum by a water shower supply device (S10) while rotating the drum at a marginal or lower speed at which laundry adheres to the inside periphery of the drum in a rinsing process to rinse the laundry (S9), then carrying out the shower rinsing action to rotate the drum at a high speed (S13), sensing the unbalance of the drum by an unbalance sensing means (S11) at the stage of water supply into the drum while rotating the drum performing the shower rinsing action at a lower speed, and carrying out an unbalance correction action to correct the unbalance (S15) when it is decided that the unbalance of a prescribed or greater magnitude has occurred from the result of the sensing.
