<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent, in a linear motion device provided with a guide rail having a U-shaped sectional shape, a deformation such that the sleeve of the guide rail are extended in the width direction while minimizing the increase in weight of the guide rail. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When the position of applying a force to a slider 2 is a longitudinal central portion of the guide rail 1, block bodies (support members) 5 which support both the sleeves 12 from the sides are disposed in the longitudinal center part of the guide rail 1.
