<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet transmission apparatus capable of alleviating load imposed on a CPU and a buffer for an OAM (Operation Administration Maintenance) packet. <P>SOLUTION: The packet transmission apparatus includes: an input side user identification section 42 for identifying a user of a received user flow, when receiving the user flow containing a communicating packet and an OAM packet; an input side packet separation extractor 52 for extracting the OAM packet from the user flow of the identified user; a policer section 24 for an input side OAM to control a transmissive output of the extracted OAM packet, based on an established monitor rate; a CPU for monitoring and controlling the user flow, based on the transmissively output OAM packet of the user; a monitor rate management table 53 for managing a PID for every monitor rate; an input side user management table 41 for managing the PID for every user; and a policing setting section 57 for the input side OAM for acquiring the monitor rate of a PID corresponding to the identified user, and setting the monitor rate to the policer 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
