PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for automatically hyperpolarizing a sample to be used as an imaging agent in a magnetic resonance system. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes: a sample box (10); an airlock chamber (11) configured to receive the sample from the sample box (10); a cryogenic chamber (12); a guide channel (13) for carrying the sample from the airlock chamber (11) to the cryogenic chamber (12); a heater/pressure module (14) coupled to the sample box (10); an injection/extraction device (15) for carrying the sample through the guide channel (13) to the cryogenic chamber (12) or from the cryogenic chamber (12); a dissolution module (16) coupled to the sample box (10); and a control device (17) for adjusting the hyperpolarization of the sample by controlling one or a plurality of the position, sequencing, temperature, pressure and dissolution of the sample within the apparatus.
