PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of etching the patterned cross section of thick film copper in a forward tapered shape, improving coverage of an insulating film or the like to be laminated on a wiring pattern and largely reducing faults such as an inter-layer short circuit, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device, on a glass substrate or a substrate where a transparent conductive film whose main component is indium is formed, at least either one of a scanning signal line or a video signal line is constituted of a laminate film whose first layer is a lower layer and second layer is an upper layer. The first layer is formed of pure copper, and the second layer is formed of an alloy whose main component is copper, having solubility in wet etching work higher than that of the copper.
