<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing residual mercaptan from a nitrile rubber. <P>SOLUTION: In this method, residual mercaptan is removed from the nitrile rubber first by adding a colloidal emulsion of sulfur to an NBR rubber latex containing free mercaptan and having a pH of 7-14 at a temperature of 30-120°C, then solidifying the NBR rubber latex, washing the NBR rubber recovered after solidification with a deionized water, and drying. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
