<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face detection controller which outputs stable face detection results, face detection control programs, and a face detection control method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An image processor 15 that constitutes a digital camera includes the face detection controller 16 which sequentially processes continuous images to detect a face. In the face detection controller 16, a face detector 162 detects a face in an image. An output threshold configuration part 164 configures an appearance threshold a to confirm a face appearance state, and a disappearance threshold d to confirm a face disappearance state based on a detection result from the face detector 162. When a face is detected by the face detector 162, an output threshold determination part 165 determines whether or not a face appears in the image according to the appearance threshold a. On the other hand, when a face is not detected by the face detector 162, the output threshold determination part determines whether or not a face disappears from the image according to the disappearance threshold d.
