PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera of an interchangeable lens type, which can automatically insert and remove an ND filter, according to brightness of an object, even when replacement with various lens units is performed. SOLUTION: A camera body 100 includes: a body mount-holding an attachable and detachable lens unit; an imaging element 110 imaging the optical image of the object to produce image data; a shutter unit 190 arranged between the body mount and the imaging element; a power supply supplying power; a motor driving the shutter unit; an output switching mechanism capable of switching drive force from the motor; a holding mechanism holding the switching state of the output switching mechanism; the ND filter attenuating the light quantity of the object from the lens unit 200; a mode selecting means selecting a moving picture photographing mode; and a body control section controlling the motor and the holding mechanism so as to drive the ND filter, when the mode selecting means selects the moving picture photographing mode.
