<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mounted crystal oscillator ensuring electrical connection of a probe (terminal pin) to a crystal inspection terminal, and enhanced in productivity. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This surface-mounted crystal oscillator includes: a ceramic vessel 1 of a rectangular shape in a plan view having a recessed part at least on one principal surface; a crystal piece 3 stored in the recessed part, sealed and enclosed by a metal cover, and having excitation electrodes 8a, 8b on one principal surface and the other principal surface; an IC chip 2 stored in the recessed part; and crystal inspection terminals formed on an outer surface of the ceramic vessel 1 and electrically connected to the excitation electrodes 8a, 8b of the crystal piece 3. The crystal oscillator is structured such that the crystal inspection terminals 7a1, 7a2 electrically connected to the excitation electrode 8a on the one principal surface are formed on outer surfaces of two sides of the vessel body 1, and the crystal inspection terminals 7b1, 7b2 electrically connected to the excitation electrode 8b on the other principal surface are formed on outer surfaces of the two residual sides.
