<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and an electronic device in which a sealing material for sticking a pair of substrates together is sufficiently irradiated with irradiation light, the entire sealing material is uniformly irradiated with the irradiation light, the sealing material is completely cured and display characteristics are improved. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a first substrate provided with a display part and a peripheral part around it; a liquid crystal layer formed at the display part of the first substrate; the sealing material 14 formed at the peripheral part of the first substrate; a second substrate clamping a liquid crystal layer between the first substrate and the sealing material 14 and stuck with the first substrate by the sealing material 14; and wiring 26 formed at least either on the second substrate facing the peripheral part of the first substrate or at the peripheral part of the first substrate. A plurality of openings 74 are regularly disposed along the sealing material 14 in a region where the wiring 26 overlaps with the sealing material 14, and the shape of the opening 74 is a polygonal planar shape in which at least one included angle is a superior angle.
