<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lockup control device for automatic transmission, capable of avoiding engine stall regardless of whether fuel-cut is executed or not, and preventing racing of an engine even if an accelerator pedal is pressed down again during non-execution of fuel-cut. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The lockup control device for automatic transmission includes a torque converter capable of attaining a lockup state in which input and output elements are directly connected by a lockup clutch, which is provided in a transmission system, and performs fuel-cut in the lockup state during coasting. In this device, a threshold for executing release of the lockup clutch 18 set according to speed information of a vehicle is set smaller in non-execution of fuel-cut than that in execution of fuel-cut.
