PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new photopolymerization initiator having high stability to weak light such as environment light, completing polymerization of a resin in a remarkably short time by intense light radiation with a lighting device such as a halogen lamp, xenon lamp and laser diode to give a cured material having good physical properties, and having excellent storage stability. SOLUTION: The photopolymerization initiator comprises (A) an α-diketone compound, (B) a dialkylaminobenzoic acid, preferably p-dimethylaminobenzoic acid, (C) an aliphatic tertiary amine compound, preferably an aliphatic tertiary amine having two or more electron-attracting groups bonded to a nitrogen atom and (D) a photoacid generator, preferably an s-triazine compound substituted with a trihalomethyl group or a diaryl iodonium salt compound.
