<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminaire capable of reducing unevenness of light in the whole lighting space caused by providing a mounting frame. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The luminaire includes a long box-shaped equipment body 1 opened downward, which includes long plate-like first side plate 11 and second side plate 12, and a long plate-like top plate 10 mutually connecting the upper ends of both the side plate, and is embedded in a ceiling surface B by making the first side plate 11 abut on a wall surface; a socket 20 attached to the first side plate 11, to which a straight tube-like fluorescent lamp La is detachably installed; a reflector 3 provided in a space among the top plate 10, the second side plate 12, and the fluorescent lamp La within the equipment body 1, the reflector diffusively reflecting the light from the fluorescent lamp La downward; and the mounting frame 5 provided at the lower end of the second side plate 12 to cover a space between the equipment body 1 and the ceiling surface B. The mounting frame 5 has a reflecting surface which reflects the light from the fluorescent lamp La and the reflector 3 downward below a direction vertical to the wall surface A.
