PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair in which the same armoring material can be used in a backplate in both conditions of a condition where the headrest is attached and a condition where the headrest is not attached. SOLUTION: The chair has the backplate 61, the armoring material 62 arranged in the front face of the backplate 61 by hooking the upper fringe attaching portion 62b to the upper fringe portion of the backplate 61, the headrest 8 detachably attached to the upper fringe portion of the back plate 61 from which the upper fringe attaching portion 62b of the armoring material 62 is detached, and a front pad member 63 arranged in the front face of the backplate 61 for fixing the headrest 8 to the backplate 61 and is constituted such that the upper fringe attaching portion 62b of the armoring material 62 detached from the upper fringe portion of the backplate 61 can be hooked to the front pad member 63 with the headrest 8 fixed to the backplate 61 using the front pad member 63.
