<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain power saving in an automatic transaction apparatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The automatic transaction apparatus 10 includes: conveyance paths 380, 390 for a subject to be conveyed; sensors 391-396 for detecting the position of the subject to be conveyed; a plurality of processing units 310, 320, 330, 340, 350, 360 provided along the conveyance paths for processing the subject to be conveyed; power supply units 240, 270 for supplying power to the plurality of processing units; and a control unit 200 for switching whether or not the power is supplied from the power supply units to the plurality of processing units depending on the position of the subject to be conveyed, so that depending on the position of the subject to be conveyed, the power is supplied to some of the plurality of processing units while the power is not supplied to the other processing units.
