<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anisotropic reflecting medium-preparing device and the like which effectively reproduce a stereoscopic effect by quantitatively computing a quantitative variation in reflection on the basis of a relation between a three-dimensional shape and an azimuth angle for setting a normal line projecting plane. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A control part of the anisotropic reflecting medium-preparing device 1 projects a three-dimensional shape, which is designed by a three dimensional shape-designing means 21, on a projection plane, and computes a normal line vector of each pixel of the projected three-dimensional shape by means of a normal line vector-computing means 23. A means 25 for computing dispersion in a streak groove direction projects normal line vectors on a normal line vector projecting plane, for the angles of the normal line projecting planes which are designated by a user or held as the default values, to find a streak groove direction, and computes the dispersion in the streak groove direction, and then presents the dispersion in the streak groove direction of each of the angles of the projecting planes to a user. A means 27 for computing a streak groove direction computes the streak groove direction of each pixel at the projection angles designated by the user, and a mechanical data-generating means 29 generates mechanical data expressing the convex and concave shapes of the three-dimensional shape.
