<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a differential transformer, and detect an acceleration while a core is biased in one direction by a tension spring. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An accelerometer is configured so as to always bias the core (4) provided within a guide hole (3) in a stator coil (2) of the differential transformer (10) in one direction by the tension spring (7) and detect the acceleration a=mx/k based on a movement of the core (4) when the acceleration (a) is applied. m is the mass of the core 4. k is a spring constant of the tension spring 7. x is a displacement of the core 4.
