The device (1) has an electric ultrasound transducer (3) mechanically coupled to an inner side (4) of a plastic bumper (2) for radiating ultrasound outwardly. The bumper is formed as a deformable painted foil (7) that is provided with a rear-foaming (8) at a rear side. An opening (9) unsealing the rear side of the foil is provided at the inner side of the bumper in the rear-foaming. The transducer is inserted into the opening and is coupled with the rear side of the foil in a vibration transmitting manner. The rear-foaming stores sound damping material e.g. quartz powder and tungsten powder. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an ultrasound producing device.
