<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device that suppresses generation of catalyst odor by a catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: A three-way catalyst 31 for purifying CO, HC, and NOx in exhaust gas and generating sulfur odor when its temperature is within a sulfur odor generating temperature range is provided in an exhaust passage of an engine 10. A temperature sensor 33 for detecting the temperature of the three-way catalyst 31 is provided downstream of the three-way catalyst 31. A heater 31a for heating the three-way catalyst 31 is provided to the three-way catalyst 31. An ECU 40 determines whether the temperature of the three-way catalyst 31 is within the sulfur odor generating temperature range based on an output signal of the temperature sensor 33, and heats the three-way catalyst 31 by the heater 31a when it determines that the temperature is within the sulfur odor generating temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
