<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-strength bioabsorbable implant including large pore communication to facilitate bone healing, and its manufacture method. <P>SOLUTION: The bioabsorbable implant includes a porous composite where a bioactive ceramic powder is evenly dispersed in bioabsorbable polymer. It is comprised so that the porosity may be 45-75%, the diameter of pore communicating parts may be 100-250 μm, the pores communicating with other pores may be 95% or more, and the compression strength may be 1 MPa or higher. The method of manufacturing the bioabsorbable implant includes heating and kneading both the bioabsorbable polymer and the bioactive ceramic powder at a temperature higher than the melting point of the bioabsorbable polymer in order to make the composite, granulating the composite into granules of 50 μm or above in diameter, mixing the obtained granulated composite with a granular soluble material of 200 μm or above in diameter in order to obtain a granular mixture, and pressing the obtained granular mixture at pressure of 10 MPa or above, while heating the obtained granular mixture at a temperature equal to and above the glass transition temperature of the polymer and equal to and below its melting point, in order to make a molding, and immersing the molding in a solvent where the soluble material is dissolved, in order to elute the soluble materials. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
