ELECTROSTATIC ATOMIZING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong a service life by suppressing the discharge of anions (blank discharge) which gives damage to an atomizing electrode.

SOLUTION: An electrostatic atomizing device electrostatically atomizing water fed to the atomizing electrode by a water feed means in a high electric field generated by applying a high voltage includes a discharge-state detecting means for detecting whether or not discharge is accompanied with electrostatic atomization based on an discharge current value. The water feed means acts forcedly when the discharge unaccompanied with electrostatic atomization is detected in the discharge-state detecting means and the forced action is released when the discharge accompanied with electrostatic atomization is detected.
