PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a puffer type gas circuit breaker capable of maintaining cutoff characteristics for a long period of time by changing a structure of a cylindrical puffer shaft through which an insulating gas of high temperature is discharged. SOLUTION: A movable side of a current breaking part 10 arranged in a container 1 is equipped with the main contact 13, an arc contactor 14, a puffer cylinder 15 to constitute a puffer device to compress the insulating gas, an insulating nozzle 17 to guide the insulating gas and spray it to an arc, and the cylindrical puffer shaft 18 which is arranged in the axial center of the puffer cylinder 15 and through which the insulating gas of high temperature is discharged from an exhaust hole. The puffer shaft 18 consists of an outside pipe member 19 in which an exhaust hole 20 is installed at an operation side end part, and an inside pipe member 21 which is arranged and fixed inside the outside pipe member 19. At the end part of the inside pipe member 21, a gas exhaust guide member 23 is arranged to fit a gas guide protruding part 23B to the exhaust hole 20 of the outside pipe member 19.
