<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device capable of favorably radiating the heat of the device. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device includes a molded member having a recess in which a light emitting element is placed at the front surface, and positive and negative lead frames having an inner lead embedded in the molded member and an outer lead protruding from the bottom surface of the molded member. The molded member has a pair of first cut parts on the rear surface opposing the front surface.
