<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminate of an electrolyte membrane-catalyst layer, preventing breakage of an electrolyte membrane even if a cell is operated for a long time and suppressing the occurrence of gas leakage by sufficiently suppressing expansion and contraction of the electrolyte membrane. <P>SOLUTION: The laminate of the electrolyte membrane-catalyst layer with the reinforcing sheet includes a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 1 and a catalyst layer 2. The frame-shaped reinforcing sheet 5 having an opening part in its center is installed on at least one side of the laminate of the electrolyte membrane-catalyst layer to make contact with the peripheral side face of the high polymer electrolyte membrane. The reinforcing sheet 5 is composed of an adhesive layer 3 and an elastic layer 4. When the catalyst layer 2 has a size smaller than the electrolyte membrane 1, the reinforcing sheet 5 is disposed to make contact with the peripheral fringe of the solid electrolyte membrane 1, and when the catalyst layer has the same shape and size as those of the electrolyte membrane, the reinforcing sheet is disposed to make contact with the peripheral side faces of the solid polymer electrolyte membrane and the catalyst layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
