<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator of a nonaqueous electrolyte battery which forms a heat-resistant porous layer excellent in uniformity and quality and is excellent in battery characteristics as a result, when achieving the separator of a nonaqueous electrolyte battery by forming the heat-resistant porous layer made of a heat-resistant resin on one side or both sides of a fine-porous membrane composed of thermoplastic resin by a wet coating method. <P>SOLUTION: The separator of the nonaqueous electrolyte battery has the fine-porous membrane with a shutdown function primarily formed of the thermoplastic resin, and the heat-resistant porous layer primarily formed of the heat-resistant resin and laminated on one side or both sides of the fine-porous membrane. In the separator, defects or foreign matters having the maximum diameter of ≥100 μm do not exist at any sections of the inside and the surface of the heat-resistant porous layer laminated per an area of 2m<SP>2</SP>of the separator, and the defects or foreign matters having the maximum diameter of ≥5 μm to ≤100 μm exist at a level of ≤10 pieces. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
