PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dust collecting apparatus that requires no charger having a complicated structure and that has high dust collecting capability while preventing sparks occurring between electrode plates at the same time. SOLUTION: In the dust collecting apparatus 4, a dust repulsion electrode plate 2 and a dust collecting electrode plate 3 are alternately stacked while spaces 10 are provided, and a different voltage is applied to the respective electrode plates. At least one of the dust repulsion electrode plate 2 and the dust collecting electrode plate 3 is a semi-electric conduction electrode plate having surface resistivity of 10<SP>7</SP>-10<SP>11</SP>Ω/square.
