<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of deviation in image density inexpensively with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: In the developing unit, in which a supply conveyance screw 32 and a recovery conveyance screw 33 are arranged in the vertical direction, a developer advective flow control member 50 is provided above the recovery conveyance screw 33. A rectifying plate 50a is formed on a bottom surface of the developer advective flow control member 50. The developer recovered from a developer roller 131 is allowed to abut on the rectifying plate 50a by being dispersed by the recovering and transporting screw 33 when being transported by the recovery conveyance screw 33, then the direction of movement of the developer is returned to a direction that is reverse to the transporting direction and returned to a recovery conveyance path.
