<p>A superconducting article is provided that includes a substrate, wherein the substrate is untextured and comprises a nickel-based alloy containing primarily nickel and not less than about 20 wt % of an alloying element, and wherein the substrate is essentially free of Mo and Mn. The superconducting article further includes a buffer layer overlying the substrate and a high-temperature superconducting (HTS) layer overlying the buffer layer.</p> |
