<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker for preventing impossibility in cooking rice excellently and also preventing the risk such as smoking, ignition, or the like caused by failure in detecting temperature. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The rice cooker includes: a control means 31 for controlling an induction coil 6 in response to a predetermined program, so as to cook an object to be cooked in an inner pot; a boiling determining means 32 for determining the boiling of the object to be cooked in the inner pot, based on the temperature detected by a lid temperature sensor 19 whenever the rice is cooked by the control means 31; and an abnormality determining means 33 for determining existence of an abnormality in a rice cooker body. The control means 31 obtains time from the start of cooking rice to the detection of boiling whenever the boiling determining means 32 detects the boiling of the object to be cooked, and calculates an average value, based on the acquired time. The abnormality determining means 33 determines the existence of the abnormality in the rice cooker body when the time is deviated from a prescribed range with respect to the average value.
