<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device capable of white display with suitable V-T characteristics and without colors. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device includes: a liquid crystal layer 55 held between a pair of substrates; a color filter layer 33 having a first colored layer 35B for transmitting first light and a second colored layer 35G for transmitting second light; a first electrode 21 having at least a first pixel electrode 21B disposed in a first sub pixel area 30B corresponding to the first colored layer 35B and a second pixel electrode 21G disposed in a second sub pixel area 30G corresponding to the second colored layer 35G; and a second electrode 22 opposite to the first electrode 21. One of the first electrode 21 and the second electrode 22 has a belt-like part 44 extended at a prescribed interval 41 inside the sub pixel area, and the dimensions of three elements which are a liquid crystal layer thickness, the width of the belt-like part 44 and the prescribed interval 41 in the first sub pixel area 30B are smaller than the dimensions of the three elements in the second sub pixel area 30B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
