<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor element for suppressing the sublimation of Pd of the conductive part exposed to the outer surface of the gas sensor element and reducing the use amount of Pt of the conductive part to achieve cost reduction, and a gas sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The gas sensor element includes a solid electrolyte layer 111, a cell 12 having a pair of the electrodes 131 and 132 formed on the surface of the solid electrolyte layer, and the heater 14 stacked on the cell directly or through another member and provided with a heating part 212 and includes first conductive parts 120a and 120b and one or more second conductive parts 211 connected to the heating part to be exposed to the outer surface of the gas sensor element. At least one of one or more first conductive parts and one or more second conductive parts is constituted so that the first regions up to at least a depth of 4 μm in the stack direction from the surfaces of the first or second conductive parts comprise a Pt-Pd mixed material containing 40 mass% or above of Pt and the second regions deeper than the first regions comprise a Pt-Pd mixed material containing 40 mass% or below of Pt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
