<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor certainly preventing the coating of a detection element from being wetted while enhancing the gas exchange properties in an inside protector so as to enhance the responsiveness of the detection element. <P>SOLUTION: In a direction of an axial line O, the position J of the rear end of the inside introducing hole 130 of the inside protector 120 is arranged on the rear end side of the position S of the leading end of the detection element 10. A louver 135 extending inwardly in a diametric direction (into a gas detecting chamber 129) toward the leading end side in the direction of the axial line O is provided to the inside introducing hole 130. Then, an imaginary line Q, which extends toward the terminal 137 of the louver 135 from the start end 136 thereof and becomes largest in the crossing angle with the axial line O while crossing the axial line O, is assumed along the outward surface (surface turned toward a gas separating chamber 119) of the louver 135. The maximum opening degree (angle) of the louver 135 is set so that the imaginary line Q and the detection element 10 become a non-contact state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
