<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying device in a simple structure, capable of surely preventing a paper jam due to one-sided closing of an opening/closing cover, without increasing the size of the device. <P>SOLUTION: This sheet conveying device includes: the opening/closing cover 61 forming one conveying surface and pivotally supported with a device body 51 freely to be opened/closed; a guide member 53 forming the other conveying surface and to be rotated in response to operation for opening/closing the opening/closing cover 61; a pair of lock members 66 provided on both sides of the opening/closing cover 61; a lock receiving member 56; a switch member 54 provided on one side in the width direction to detect the opened/closed state of the opening/closing cover 61; a guide surface 67 provided in the opening/closing cover 61; a pair of guide parts 57 formed in the guide member 53 to guide the rotation of the guide member 53 by moving the guide surface 67 in response to the operation for opening/closing the opening/closing cover 61; and an abutment part 68, which is formed on the guide surface 67 on one side and in which the one guide part 57 hinders the movement of the guide surface 67 on one side before the opening/closing cover 61 reaches the closing position by operation for closing the opening/closing cover 61 near the one side thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
