<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium enabling a reproducing unit to reliably execute picture-in-picture even if material types that can be decoded by the reproducing unit are varied. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the recording medium in which a plurality of video streams and tables have been recorded, each of the plurality of video streams is a secondary video stream reproduced together with a primary video stream, and includes picture data displayed as slave images in master and slave images for composing the picture-in-picture.
