<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain various diagnostic purposes with the use of one ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus, while keeping convenience being the same as that in a conventional manner. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes: a storage part 6 for storing a control program corresponding to the diagnostic purposes concerning the plurality of diagnostic purposes; an operation table 8 having an operation display part for displaying an operation screen to allow an operator to input an indication; and a control part 7 for controlling respective parts of the apparatus. When the diagnostic purpose is selected, the control part 7 reads and performs the control program concerning the selected diagnostic purpose, and allows the operation display part to display the screen corresponding to the selected diagnostic purpose as the operation screen to perform a function for the diagnosis.
