A fuel injection valve having enhanced valve closing response achieved with valve opening response and durability (wear resistance) between colliding sections of a fixed core and a movable core maintained at high levels. An annular end surface (106A) of a movable core (106) of a fuel injection valve is provided with a colliding section (106C) with which the movable core collides when the movable core is magnetically attracted to the fixed core (107) side, and also with a non-colliding section which, in an area on the outer diameter side or the inner diameter side of the colliding section, secures a fluid gap.  The fixed core and the annular end surface of the movable core are coated with platings (30, 31) having wear resistance.  At least either of the platings of the fixed core and the movable core is formed so as to be thick at the colliding section (106C) and thin at the non-colliding section.
