<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensitizing dye which gives a photoelectric conversion element having a long operating life and high energy conversion efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The sensitizing dye is a donor-acceptor type sensitizing dye comprising a compound in which an acceptor moiety is a quinonedimethane group or an anthraquinonedimethane group having at least two cyano groups or nitro groups. It is preferable that the acceptor moiety includes four cyano groups or nitro groups. It is especially preferable that the acceptor moiety is a tetracyanoquinonedimethane group, a tetranitroquinonedimethane group, a tetracyanoanthraquinonedimethane group or a tetranitroanthraquinonedimethane group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
