<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric signal transmission device allowing ready and sure connection of a connection terminal with a substrate of a photoelectric device by a small-size and simple structure via an electric contact terminal provided on a receptacle, and to provide electronic equipment using the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The photoelectric signal transmission device includes the photoelectric device 102, the receptacle 101 housing and holding the photoelectric device 102 and having the electric contact terminal 115 with which the connecting terminal 113 of the photoelectric device 102 is connected and a photoelectric signal transmission path with a plug fitted on the receptacle 101 to transmit the photoelectric signal, thereby performing bidirectional or unidirectional optical communication and bidirectional or unidirectional electric communication. The electric contact terminal 115 of the receptacle 101 with which the connecting terminal 113 of the photoelectric device 102 is connected is partially exposed to the outside of the receptacle 101 to be connected with the outside.
