In a method of constructing a partition or wall cast into the ground, in which vertical cruciform piles A, B, C, D are implanted in the ground at spaced positions, a trench 2 as wide as the required wall is dug out between the two adjacent piles A, B and concrete is poured into the trench to fill the space between the two piles, the cross-section of the piles being such that concrete flows around parts of the piles to ensure a continuous key throughput the wall. The piles may be of any cross-sectional shape and they may have vertical channels (1) Fig. 3 (not shown) to allow impregnation of the soil.</p> |
