<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC-DC converter for detecting failure of a bidirectional switch. <P>SOLUTION: The AC-DC converter includes resistors 6 and 7 connected in series between output terminals of a rectifier 3, capacitors 9 and 10 connected in series between output terminals of the rectifier 3, a bidirectional switch 4 whose one end is connected to one input terminal of the rectifier 3, a bidirectional switch 5 whose one end is connected to the other input terminal of the rectifier 3, a bidirectional switch 8 whose one end is connected to a connection point of the resistors 6 and 7 while the other end is connected to a connection point of the capacitors 9 and 10, a voltage detecting means for detecting at least two of a voltage of the resistor 6, a voltage of the resistor 7, and a voltage between the output terminals of the resistor 3, and an abnormality detecting means 20 for detecting failure of the bidirectional switch. The other ends of the bidirectional switch 4 and the bidirectional switch 5 are connected to the connection point of the resistors 6 and 7, and the abnormality detecting means 20 detects failure based on the detecting result of the voltage detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
