<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute a protection function of a microcircuit without being disturbed by an attack, with respect to the attack to the microcircuit. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a method for protecting the microcircuit against attacks, including the steps of: determining whether or not any attack is detected (205); executing a protection function in the case that any attack is detected (210, 510); and simulating the protection function in the case that no attack is detected, and executing a decoy function that enables the detection from the outside of the microcircuit according to the substantially identical method to the protection circuit (215, 515). In one embodiment, the decoy function has the substantially identical power consumption to power consumption of the protection function, the protection function includes the step of writing predetermined data into a first address of a nonvolatile memory, and the decoy function includes the step of writing the predetermined data into an address different from the first address of the nonvolatile memory. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
