<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can prevent the occurrence of an image defect due to insufficiency of charge of second developer by making an amount of grinding particles externally added to the second developer (for example, black developer) smaller than that of grinding particles externally added to the first developer (another color developer). Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a first image forming part 1Y including a first developing device 4Y which develops an image with the first developer, and a second image forming part 1BK including a second developing device 4BK which develops an image with the second developer containing a smaller amount of grinding particles than the first developer, wherein a developer image formed by the first image forming part 1Y is supplied to a cleaning member 6BK of the second image forming part 1BK through a transfer means 8.
