<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive method for producing a microfiber made of an ecological synthetic resin having improved heat resistance in stable qualities. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The sea-island fiber comprises a thermoplastic resin having biocompatibility as an island component obtained by blending a polylactic acid unit A composed of 70-99 mol% of an L-lactic acid unit and 1-30 mol% of a D-lactic acid unit and/or a copolymerizable component unit except lactic acid with a polylactic acid unit B composed of 70-99 mol% of a D-lactic acid unit and 1-30 mol% of an L-lactic acid unit and/or a copolymerizable component unit except lactic acid in the weight ratio of 10:90-90:10 and forming the blend to a stereocomplex crystal.
