<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio reception device which selectively receives a horizontal polarized wave and a vertical polarized wave, excludes an unnecessary signal due to circular polarization, and is applicable over a wide range. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The radio reception device includes a first antenna 10 receiving a horizontal polarized radio wave, a second antenna 20 receiving a vertical polarized radio wave and differing in position by λ in the arrival direction of the radio wave, a rat race circuit 31 which includes first and second ports connected to the first and second antenna 10 and 20, and outputs a composite high-frequency signal from third and fourth ports, and a selector switch circuit 33 which includes first to fourth contacts connected to the first to fourth ports of the rat race circuit 31 respectively and selects and connects one of the contacts to a following stage. The first and second ports are connected by transmission lines having such a length that the impedance obtained by viewing the first and second contacts from the first and second ports is infinite, and the third and fourth ports are connected by transmission lines having such a length that the impedance obtained by viewing the third and fourth contacts from the third and fourth ports is zero.
