PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range image data generating device for a vehicle for continuously grasping a forward state of an own vehicle. SOLUTION: The range image data generating device for the vehicle includes: a projector 5; an image intensifier 7b and a high speed camera 8; a timing controller 9; and an image processing part 10 for generating range image data expressing a distance up to an object of each pixel. The projector 5 includes a plurality of near infrared ray LED 5a for modifying a lighting number.
